MEET THE PEBBLES
Pebble was built by a community of climbers who believe that the best things are built together. That's how we started, and that's how we intend to grow. Join us in building an even stronger community, one pebble at a time.
A wise man once said, "How you start is how you finish."
GABE
Chief Climbing Officer
Gabe has dreamed of opening a climbing gym since he was 14 years old. Twelve years later, that dream is finally becoming reality. An enthusiast since day one, Gabe has competed throughout his teenage and adult years and remains passionate about the sport. When he isn't solving boulder problems, he is solving problems of a different kind as a structural engineer. In September, Gabe and Serenity became parents!
SERENITY
Wrangler
She is a classically trained pianist but also plays many other instruments including the guitar, ukulele, triangle, and kazoo. She uses these skills on the worship team at her church. She started climbing during her senior year of college and kept at it right up until the day before going into labor. Now, she's embracing her newest and most exciting adventure: motherhood.
DAN
Chief Falling Officer
Dan is a numbers person, builder, planner, and problem-solver. While they were studying engineering together at Messiah Gabe got him into climbing. He is passionate about fitness and enjoys running, cycling, hiking, and lifting. Originally from Upstate New York, he is now a proud resident of Harrisburg. You can often find him running in Riverfront Park or eating pad thai at the Broad Street Market.
EVE
Designer
Eve grew up in the Bay Area, California, and studied illustration at Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida. That's where she met and fell in love with her husband Luke, and now their family is expecting a baby girl. Eve enjoys making art of all kinds, including latte art as a barista at Denim Coffee Company. In fact, much of the artwork you'll see throughout our website and gym is created by Eve!
LUKE
Technical Artist
Luke is a 3D animator by day and an enthusiastic amateur climber by night. He’s been climbing for over a decade, but you wouldn’t necessarily know it from watching him project. When he’s not climbing, Luke builds weird things with computers, volunteers with his church’s youth program, and spends time with his wife, Eve. As Gabe’s brother, he’s been around the gym since it was little more than an idea—and is excited to see it become a third place where people can make friends and fall off fake rocks.
GUS
Golden Retriever
He may be the friendliest person you’ll ever meet and if you ever get the chance, have a chat with him! He is Pebble’s brand ambassador, so he is going to be sharing us with the surrounding community. Gus is a veteran climber with 25 years of experience and enjoys searching Pennsylvania for new lines. For Gus’ day job, he works teaching travel skills to individuals who are blind or visually impaired wanting to conquer day to day cruxes.
NATE
Builder
A residential architect who has designed, managed, and built with his hands hundreds of custom homes. When he isn’t working, he loves spending time with family, playing board games, solving murder mystery puzzles with his wife, Chris, or birdwatching.
CHRIS
Spunky
A Spanish professor at Messiah University. Finds great joy in creating games for her students and finding innovative ways to make learning interesting. Chris is also an alpaca shepherdess. If you ever want to meet an alpaca, you should talk to her!
